HCC DOC is a powerful, forward-thinking dog with a strong presence on cattle, sheep & ducks. He has the kind of push that moves stubborn stock but the brains to settle them just as quickly. Doc reads the situation well and adjusts accordingly, He’s happy to bring the pressure when it’s needed, and he’s equally capable of backing off and letting stock settle.
Doc is gritty, strong, and steady. He carries himself with natural authority and has never backed down from a challenge. He’s the kind of dog that gives you confidence to take on anything in front of you.
A talented, versatile partner with power to spare and plenty of heart behind it.
Outside of cattle, DOC shows the same drive and athleticism, he placed 3rd in the Ohio Disc Dog League in 2024 on his first and only season competing thus far, and he loves dock diving. We plan to pursue that more seriously once his herding career wraps up.
Work ethic, athleticism, and heart... DOC brings it all.

HCC Doc's Pedigree represents generations of proven British and Irish hill-bred Border Collie genetics, stacked with some of the most influential ISDS working dogs from Wales, Scotland, England, and Ireland. This pedigree is firmly rooted in function-first breeding, emphasizing natural stock sense, bidability, balance, and durability.
On the sire side, Doc is sired by IMP. Groes Jock, a powerful working dog bred in Denbighshire, Wales, bringing strong Aled Owen / Clwyd Wales influence. This line is widely respected for producing dogs with exceptional feel for stock, natural outruns, and the ability to handle pressure with intelligence rather than force. Dogs from this family are known for being honest, thoughtful workers with plenty of grit when needed.
Doc’s dam, IMP. Mist, brings in deep Irish working blood, tracing back to Co. Roscommon lines known for their toughness, stamina, and stock-savvy mindset. These dogs are typically strong-bodied, mentally resilient, and capable of long days of real work traits that consistently translate well into both trial settings and daily ranch use.
Throughout Doc’s pedigree, you’ll find repeated appearances of ISDS greats such as Aled Owen, Mac, Tweed, Fly, and Peg, reinforcing the consistency of these working genetics. This is not an outcross-heavy or diluted pedigree - it’s a stacked, intentional concentration of proven producers that have stood the test of time on sheep & cattle in real-world conditions.
The result is a dog bred to think first, move stock correctly, and stay sound mentally and physically across years of work. HCC Doc’s pedigree reflects generations of dogs bred for purpose, not popularity, making him a strong representation of true working Border Collie heritage.
